We're looking for a Housing Worker to support our Housing Team here at Monarch Court for City YMCA.
The aim of this post is to provide a direct housing service to vulnerable young people aged 16 - 25. This post will assist young people to move on to independent living including referral management, initial assessments, upholding of house rules, benefit support, budgeting and life skills support. This post requires close working with a range of agencies such as Floating Support, Housing Services, Housing Benefits and Children Services. They will provide quality information, advice and guidance and support to Residents with regards to the claiming of housing related benefits. To work with colleagues to reduce rent arrears.
The Housing team are going through an exciting period of development, and as a Housing Worker you will be proactive in the contribution of providing advice and guidance to young people, also supporting them in different aspects such as calling external agencies, ensuring they are adhering to the house rules and there will be times where other duties are required by the housing worker. At all times you will be acting as an ambassador for housing and for City YMCA.
With experience Microsoft office including Excel and the ability to work in an independent and pro- active manner, you will use your initiative to identify opportunities and offer solutions within the scope of your role to facilitate colleagues, maximising the impact of their working role.
You'll be an excellent communicator and able to speak to a wide variety of people within a challenging but vibrant environment.
