Our client, one of London's leading higher education establishments, is currently looking to recruit a temporary Financial Officer to provide key financial management support. You will be responsible for managing contracts, financial monitoring procedures, reporting and other grant project and fellowship related tasks. You will need to have knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of university work practices, processes and procedures relating to all areas of financial management. This would include expenses, budget management, forecasting ensuring adherence to the school's financial regulations and expenses policies. You will be required to process all financial transactions such as invoices, expense claims, reimbursements and transfers and ensure that all financial transactions are conducted with the rules, boundaries and timescales required. You would need to use the university's finance system to reconcile, raise purchase orders, produce reports and track and monitor transactions. Strong administrative support on all finance related matters will be required. You would need to be able to identify and implement efficient ways of working and make best use of resources and processes and procedures within the school. To resolve financial expenditure enquiries with responsibility for troubleshooting finance queries and finding a suitable resolution. You will need to show initiative and judgement, have good communication skills, pay great attention to detail, have the ability to work independently and the ability to make decisions within existing procedures and practices. Have previous experience of financial administration, including budget management, processing of expenses, reconciliation within financial regulations and policies. Experience working in a higher education environment is essential.
